The Kast Iron Kookers made a pilgrimage to Natchez Ms, March 6, 7, & 8th for our march 2009 D.O.G. The beautiful Natchez State Park became our home for the weekend. Friday night’s pot luck featured delicious treats (grilled hamburgers, hot dog’s, meatball sub sandwiches, chips & dip…) and left the weary travelers with full tummies. Many of the Kookers weary from our trek, retired early to prepare for a fun filled Saturday. Awaking Saturday morning we were treated to a breakfast of bacon, eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, and French toast casserole! After breakfast members headed out to visit Natchez and the historic area, taking time to consider the many hardships the early residents of the area faced. I wonder what dishes they would have fixed travelling the Natchez Trace? What did the Kast Iron Kookers fix... 12 pots of mouth watering foods for 18 people, no one left hungry! After dinner, a “round truck” meeting was held to discuss club business and future DOG’s. President elect Porter (not Potter) made an attempt to veto the election results. The members present voted to override his veto! Sunday morning arrived way too early! Do we spring forward or spring back? Gathering at the Wades for breakfast, we ate our fill of bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits and cinnamon rolls. Reluctantly, members parted and began our journeys home. Thanks to Monty, Tammy and JT for hosting, everyone had a great time.
Remember to check the website regularly for fun discussions and updates of DOG’s!
At this time the Kast Iron Kookers would like to say, Congratulations to our graduates…Tammy, Emily, and Teri Beth!

Change is coming!
First and foremost let me say: I appreciate the confidence the group has in my leadership abilities to maintain the high level of standards in this organization and take it to the next step.
As Presidential-elect I have a few changes that need to be addressed.
1. The Presidential chair has to be changed. It does not need to tilt, pivot or have a hole in the center.
2. In the future the person being voted in as an officer has to be positioned at the tailgate of the “round truck” meeting unless the person is at a different campground and named Potter.
3. The “Electronic veto” will be abolished.
Other changes to come in the future when I figure out what y'all got me into.
A few things should stay the same regardless of the officers. Family, Friends, Great Food and a Good time.
